The MARQ has successfully passed the audit to obtain the new seal created by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE) to certify the implementation of the prevention measures for the reduction of the SARS-C0V-2 contagion. The Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Culture, Julia ParraHe explained that "it is quite an achievement to obtain this recognition, which only three museums in Spain currently have".
The head of Culture assured that "the ICTE accreditation contributes to reinforcing the image of the MARQ as a healthy space and confirms the good work that has been done in recent months to adapt the facilities to the new health reality".
The Specification UNE 0066-09:2020 of Museums and Heritage Sites is specifically aimed at providing a safe delivery of services that museums and heritage sites offer to their visitors. These are a series of proposals in addition to the social distancing, barrier gestures and masking measures for the public and tourists. These guidelines address aspects such as the development of a contingency planthe cleaning and disinfection, access and capacity control, protective equipment for staff or the prioritisation of online bookings and payments.to avoid contact.
Parra recalled that "the MARQ Foundation has so far made an investment of 40,000 euros to adapt its facilities and make the museum a safe environment". This new certification also covers the Almudaina Tower and to the sites of the Tossal de Manises-Lucentum and Illeta dels BanyetsThe ICTE standard foresees an audit process at the time they are reopened to the public, following the audit process foreseen in the ICTE standard.
This qualification constitutes a key toolThe project, endorsed by health experts, for the implementation of a series of health and hygiene safety protocols that guarantee the minimisation of risks in the face of the coronavirus. It also avoids a territorial dispersion of protocols and helps to prepare for the reopening of the tourism sector as a whole, promoting the image of Spain as a safe tourist destination.
