MARQ receives more than 2,500 visitors during Easter Week

The Easter Week campaign organised by the Fundación CV MARQ has managed to attract a total of 2,569 people from the 1st to the 11th of April, a period in which families have enjoyed a few days of rest and schoolchildren a well-deserved holiday.

The programme designed for the Easter holidays has also been extended to the sites of Tossal de Manises Lucentum and Illeta dels Banyets and has included educational workshops, both in person and online, dramatised visits and treasure hunts, among other activities.

Once again this year, the children's workshops were fully booked every morning and the children were able to complete their education with an entertaining visit specially designed to facilitate their understanding of the archaeological content to be learnt.

In terms of numbers, 1,101 people have visited the MARQ, 1,005 have visited the Illeta dels Banyets and 463 have visited Lucentum. These figures show the great interest of the people of Alicante in getting to know the museum and its sites in a dynamic and participative way and learning about the history of the province of Alicante through archaeological research, with the aim of valuing and protecting our Historical, Cultural, Environmental and Archaeological Heritage and facilitating access to culture for the youngest members of the family and encouraging teamwork among colleagues.

Visits to MARQ are carried out under strict security measures that include thermo-controlled access, interpersonal safety distance, the obligatory use of masks, as well as hygiene elements such as hydroalcoholic gel dispensers, mats for disinfecting footwear, etc. Likewise, one-way visit itineraries, small guided groups and restricted capacity have been established, in compliance with the health measures and the Contingency Plan for visits to the public that has been followed since the reopening of the Museum and the archaeological sites in June and July and which earned the official ICTE seal for museums and heritage sites "Safe Tourism Certified" both in all the rooms of the Museum and in the archaeological sites and Monuments.
