The MUBAG, the MARQ and the Juan Gil-Albert Museum celebrate International Museum Day with a host of activities

 

 

     

 The celebration of the International Museum Day-DIM 2017 will bring together for another year the Provincial Government cultural centres to offer a wide variety of proposals around the museum community of Alicante. The event, under the slogan "Museums and controversial histories: saying the unsayable in museums".will start next year 18 May with workshops, competitions, games, guided tours, concerts and open days, with free admission.

         The Deputy for Culture, César Augusto AsencioHe explained that, as in previous years, museums and cultural centres have produced a joint brochure, which is being published today, so that the public can organise their own route and, as of next Thursday, start sealing this "passport". in each of the visits made. This system will allow you to obtain a gift when you have visited five of the centres that make up this initiative.

     On the other hand, and as a new feature of this edition, the facades of the participating schools will be wearing ephemeral installations created by Architecture students at the University of Alicante under the direction of Professor Adriana Figueiras.       The MUBAGwhich will exhibit at its entrance the installation "Art wants to be felt".will offer a varied programme for the whole family. The "Photo Marathon will gather on Sunday all the images shared on Instagram since Thursday by the visitors, with the hashtag #DimMUBAGto be screened in the museum. In addition, the permanent exhibition "The 19th century at the MUBAG. From the formation to the fullness of an artist" will be enriched with a new and "mysterious" work that a guided tour will bring to light on the 18th at 18:30. Music will also be the protagonist of these days with the PIANO CONCERT which will take place on Friday 19 at 19:00.

      The temporary exhibition "Goya. Witness of his time". will feature a large number of activities: guided tours - one of which will be translated into sign language - and various initiatives focused on the children's public like the game "Inside the labyrinththe workshop "Imagining like Goya". or the proposal to paint the walls of the museum, just as the famous painter did with those of his estate La Quinta del Sordo. Also, on Saturday at 22:00 hours the theatrical show "Aguafuerte, Almafuerte". will unpack dramatic expression in the artist's engravings and on Sunday an actor will offer a dramatised visit to the exhibition.

   Finally, the MUBAG will repeat the opening of the workshop on restoration and storage of works of art, given the success obtained last year. For this and the rest of the activities, prior registration is required by calling 965146787 (Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 14:00).

         For its part, the MARQ will hold a conference on DOORS OPEN the days 18, 20 y 21both in the museum and at archaeological sites, under the slogan "The museum and the sites". "Coexistence between cultures in the Middle Ages in our lands". and will extend its opening hours. On the 18th the guided tours which will be held throughout the weekend together with workshops, educational games and a photocall of the Middle Ages. In addition, the museum has set aside some specific times to receive groups related to accessibility and social responsibility, such as classrooms for the elderly, Down Alicante, Aspanion or Asociación Vida Libre. 

         Finally, the Juan Gil-Albert Institute of Culture of Alicante  will offer the Thursday 18 a guided visit and the meeting between the artist Miriam Rincón and the commissioner Bernabé GómezThe exhibition "Inerte pero vivo" (Inert but alive) can currently be visited as part of the "Arte en la Casa Bardín" (Art at the Bardín House) cycle.
