The MARQ is an archaeology museum that is committed to the renovation of the traditional exhibition system, understood as a collection of duly classified and catalogued finds.

El pasado de un pueblo, en cuyos orígenes se sucedieron distintas civilizaciones, es definitivo en la evolución y configuración del mismo, y así debemos transmitirlo a todos aquelllos que se acerquen al MARQ.
The Provincial Archaeological Museum of Alicante is very interesting from an educational point of view and at the same time fun, rigorous and spectacular. The Museum also offers the possibility of learning about the archaeological method. In three of its rooms: the one for Field Archeology, the one for Urban Archeology and the one for Underwater Archeology, there are scenographies, audiovisuals and interactive elements that allow you to delve into the techniques used by archaeologists to discover the past and valuable information is offered in an attractive and educational way.
In addition, the Museum has exhibition spaces for temporary exhibitions and the necessary facilities to carry out research, conservation, restoration, cataloguing and dissemination tasks.
Los diferentes ámbitos temáticos ofrecen al visitante la oportunidad de realizar un apasionante paseo por la historia. El Museo recibe al visitante sumergiéndolo en el espacio geográfico de Alicante, mostrándole la rica y variada oferta paisajística y monumental de estas tierras. A partir de ahí comienza el recorrido histórico por sus salas permanentes dedicadas a la Prehistoria, la Cultura Ibera, la Cultura Romana, la Edad Media y la Edad Moderna y Contemporánea.
At the MARQ, the different exhibition areas are linked by introductory thematic blocks that give chronological continuity to the contents and are supported by interactive spaces that include detailed information about sites, descriptions of the archaeological pieces on display, ways of life of the different cultures, etc.
