This Friday saw the closing of the 2020-2021 course of the MARQ+65 Project, an initiative of the C.V. MARQ Foundation in collaboration with the Association 'Aulas de la tercera Edad de Alicante', (ASAUTE), which contributes to the cultural and social growth of the elderly, as well as to intergenerational dialogue, which this year has been developed in the double modality of online and face-to-face.
At the closing ceremony of this edition, the traditional presentation of diplomas to the students and teachers who have collaborated so enthusiastically in this initiative took place.
In the facilities of the Museum and the archaeological sites of Tossal de Manises-Lucentum and Illeta dels Banyets, a total of 12 participants were able to learn about the MARQ collections and the history of our province, from Prehistory to the Modern and Contemporary Ages, through visits to the permanent galleries and archaeological sites, talks, workshops, films with the cycle history in the Cinema, tours of the historic centre of Alicante...
MARQ+65 is a programme that consolidates a long-term project aimed at bringing the Museum closer to the elderly, involving them in cultural life. Since 2016, the MARQ has also become, for the students of ASAUTE, a training space where they can actively learn about Alicante's rich historical heritage.
