Fusion of cultures

A large number of people gathered this afternoon in the Alicante city centre to contemplate the spectacular Mayan paradeorganised by the Provincial Government on the occasion of the exhibition on this civilisation and its enigmas that will be held tomorrow at MARQ. The sound of the conch shells announcing the call to the sun has kicked off this promotional action in which some 30 companies have taken part. actors and musicians dressed in typical Mayan garments. The procession travelled through various streets and avenues of the city to show the spectators and passers-by the idiosyncrasies of this culture.  Percussionists, flute players, priests and warriors have starred in some of the rites and ceremonies of one of the most astonishing civilisations of mankind, which inhabited the Yucatan Peninsula.
