The Alicante Provincial Council is extending the 'MARQ Inclusive' programme with visits to archaeological sites.

  

 

   The President of the Provincial Council of Alicante and President of the MARQ Foundation, Carlos Mazónand the Councillor for Social Action and Family of Alicante City Council, Julia LlopisThe two organisations have renewed the collaboration agreement aimed at facilitating accessibility to the museum for people at risk of social exclusion. The project "MARQ Inclusive Programmes". includes for the first time the visit to the archaeological parks of the Tossal de Manises and Illeta dels Banyets.

   In this way, the Alicante City Council joins forces with the Archaeological Museum in an initiative that addresses the access to culture as fundamental pillar of social inclusionCarlos Mazón emphasised that "it contributes to people's social roots through knowledge of the cultural legacy that is closest to us and forms part of their growth and development".

   For her part, the Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Culture, Julia Parraapplauded the initiative to improve the accessibility of cultural facilities "which will undoubtedly make it easier for more people to visit these venues. This is a great step forward".  

   Thanks to this agreement, the people assisted in the Municipal Social Services will be able to take part in guided tours of both the museum and the sites of the Tossal de Manises, Lucentumin Alicante and the Illeta dels Banyetsin El Campello. In addition, this group will have the opportunity to carry out activities and workshops which aim to promote knowledge of history through the archaeological remains contained in the MARQ's rooms and its enclaves.
