El Tossal de Manises archaeological site will host this weekend the IV Conference of Historical Recreation "Reviviscit Lucentum", an initiative of the MARQ to raise awareness of this enclave and highlight its important historical content.
The Member of Parliament for Culture, Julia Parra, explained that the main objective of this initiative, now in its fourth edition, is to disseminating the rich heritage that the Lucentum site treasures, the most visited in the Comunitat Valenciana, and has placed special emphasis on the historical rigour of the performances. The life of a Roman camp, military displays and gladiatorial combats are some of the scenes that will be interpreted by the Hispania Romana cultural association a national, non-profit organisation that studies the Roman presence in Spain and other parts of the Mediterranean, with particular emphasis on their cultural legacylanguage and customs.
The re-enactments will take place over two sessions, on sábado 28from 17:30 to 20:00 hours, and on Sunday 29 Septemberfrom 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The capacity for the activities will be limited to a maximum of 250 people per session and the ticket price is 3 euros per session (children up to 7 years old can enter for free). Tickets can be purchased at the MARQ ticket offices, at the site itself or through Instanticket.

On the other hand, the MARQ will join the cultural activities scheduled for World Tourism Day tomorrow Friday. The museum, the archaeological sites and the Torre de la Almudaina will open their doors free of charge in its usual timetable:

Research Night
The museum will also host tomorrow the celebration of the European Research Night which will start at 10:00 a.m. with a guided tour entitled "Women through the legacy of MARQ". to explain the role that women have played throughout history. "Discovering our ancestors is the second proposal, which will be held at 12:00 and 17:00 and will focus on the Auxiliary Sciences that help the progress of Archaeology.
