la Caixa" Welfare Projects brings cave art closer to the people of Alicante

The Archaeological Museum of Alicante will have the collaboration of Obra Social "la Caixa" in the organisation of the exhibition "Rupestre. The first sanctuaries", an exhibition that will open on 5 July and which takes an extraordinary journey through prehistoric art in Alicante. The Fundación Comunidad Valenciana MARQ and the financial institution today signed the agreement to make this avant-garde project a reality, which aims to bring cave art closer to society, especially one of the most important research centres of the Mediterranean arc, the sanctuary of Pla de Petracos in Castell de Castells.

The President of the Diputación de Alicante, swiss replica watches  César SánchezHe was accompanied at the signing by the deputy for Culture, César Augusto AsencioHe thanked "la Caixa" Welfare Projects for "its cultural sensitivity and its active support in this commitment to the protection and dissemination of Alicante's cave art" and stressed that "the Alicante Provincial Council is once again backing an original and solid project that will bring together unique pieces in an unprecedented exhibition that is set to become one of the most important cultural events in our country this year".

For his part, the commercial director of CaixaBank in the Comunitat Valenciana, Felipe PulidoHe assured that "for the Obra Social 'la Caixa' it is a real pleasure to continue collaborating with the Archaeological Museum of Alicante in this type of high quality projects to bring culture closer to the citizens, both Alicante residents and visitors".

This new cultural initiative coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the inclusion of the Rock Art of the Mediterranean Arc of the Iberian Peninsula on the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage list. The importance of this exhibition is also reflected in the fact that it is also sponsored by the Spanish Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO and that the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation has authorised the inclusion of the World Heritage logo in the credits of the exhibition. It is worth remembering that along with the Obra Social "la Caixa", this MARQ exhibition also has the collaboration of Asisa, Fundación Caja Murcia and Museums Partner.
