The traces of the Marq in the Viking of Lisbon

Alicante residents who decide to spend a few days in Lisbon will find another cultural attraction there: from today they will be able to visit the international exhibition Vikings at the Museo de La Marina. The exhibition, which opens on 17th April, will have an unmistakably Alicante feel to it, as the people of Lisbon have decided to adapt the Marq's exhibition set-up to show the imposing pieces from the National Museum of Denmark to the public. Not only the Viking collection, made up of more than 600 objects, has travelled to Lisbon, but also the display cases in which they have been exhibited in Alicante and the didactic material that has enriched this fascinating exhibition.

The spectacular Vikingos museum project at the Archaeological Museum of Alicante has been designed by the Rocamora Arquitectura studio and was nominated by one of the most important Spanish-speaking architecture websites, www.plataformaarquitectura.cl, for the ODA'17 Award, Work of the Year 2017, in the Cultural Architecture section.

More than 100,000 people visited the Marq during the ten months that the Vikings occupied the Archaeological Museum of Alicante.
