The conferences were inaugurated by the Vice-president of the MARQ and Deputy for Culture of the Provincial Council of Alicante, César Augusto Asencio, together with the managing director of the MARQ Foundation, José Alberto Cortés, the technical director of the Museum, Manuel Olcina, the director of the MAHE of Elche, Miguel Pérez and Rafael Azuar, curator of the Conference.
The first session of these talks took place in the MARQ's Assembly Hall, a meeting aimed in this year's edition at analysing knowledge of Al-Andalus and the Maghreb under Almoravid political rule, from the perspective of archaeology and material culture.
The second day of this third conference moved the lectures to the MAHE, Museum of Archaeology and History of Elche, with the attendance of the 200 registered participants, including archaeologists, historians, museum professionals, teachers and students, as well as those interested in this exciting period of our history, in a scientific meeting in which there was also room for reflection and debate. Those attending the talks were also able to enjoy a guided tour of the Islamic walls of Elche.
