Next Tuesday 18 February, a new Teacher Training course will begin at MARQ entitled "...".Formative Itinerary of the Cultural Landscape of the Alicante countryside. La Huerta de Alicante Part I". The conference is aimed at a total of 30 teachers from Pre-school, Special Education, Primary and Secondary Education.
The MARQ Foundation thus enters the Camp d'Alacant and, therefore, the Huerta of Alicante, which treasures a cultural and historical heritage of incalculable value that is currently in the process of disappearing due to the intense anthropic and urbanising action that exists in the area surrounding the city. Huerta towers, dams, irrigation ditches, mills, crops, irrigation traditions, music, customs, make up an enormous heritage that needs to be recovered, preserved and enhanced.
The aim of this course is to locate and get to know the cultural and historical richness of the Camp d'Alacant in time and space, to eliminate the related stereotypes creating a more faithful image of the historical and cultural reality, to know the structure of the different archaeological, historical, ethnographic, cultural and traditional heritage elements of the Camp d'Alacant which constitute a unique heritage with more than 2,000 years of history and finally, to appreciate and highlight the importance of this cultural heritage and its capacity to become a tourist, cultural and social value in its own right.
The first part of the talks will run from 18 February to 4 March in the MARQ Library at 5.30 p.m., and are open to anyone interested until full capacity is reached. Further information on the content of the presentations and how to make the inscription in www.marqalicante.com
